Authentic Edo period original, c.1830, Japanese erotic art shunga surimono (privately commissioned, high-quality print) woodblock print picture by an artist of the UTAGAWA School. 
 
Shunga picture measures 9 cm x 13 cm.  Very good colors and impressions.  Nice embossing, as well as some deluxe printing techniques such as mica (metallic pigments) and gauffrage (a milder and more subtle type of embossing).
 
Good condition with some light wear and soiling, burn mark to the right of the picture and a bit of wormage at bottom middle.  No backing, aside from minimal strips along the sides of the picture.  Please see and judge from photos.
 
An elegantly dressed Japanese beauty passionately kisses her lover, her elaborate coiffure and exceptionally lavish, richly patterned robes dominating the composition.  The surrounding sake vessels and accessories add to the luxurious atmosphere, making this an especially colorful and extravagant Edo-period shunga scene.
