Authentic Edo period original, c.1830, Japanese erotic art shunga surimono (privately commissioned, high-quality print) woodblock print picture by an artist of the UTAGAWA School. 
 
Shunga picture measures 9 cm x 13 cm.  Very good colors and impressions.  Nice embossing, as well as some deluxe printing techniques such as mica (metallic pigments) and gauffrage (a milder and more subtle type of embossing).
 
Very good condition with some light wear and soiling.  No backing, aside from minimal strips along the sides of the picture.  Please see and judge from photos.
 
An intensely erotic Edo-period shunga scene depicting a pair of lovers; their tightly interlocked bodies dominate the composition, while the vivid blue, red and purple robes and delicate embossed background give the picture an exceptionally rich decorative quality.
