Excellent colors and impressions! The Japanese shunga also has a number of deluxe artwork features such as urushi-e (black lacquer; notably in the hair), mica (metallic pigments), gauffrage (a mild type of embossing), and also bokashi shading. Decent condition with minor wear, vertical crease mark to the right of the centre fold, and pink dye marking. Original album backing. Please see and judge from photos.
A stunning and intimate shunga woodblock print capturing the passion of a newlywed couple as they consummate their union. The bride, adorned in a resplendent red uchikake with intricate floral patterns, her elaborate bridal headdress still in place - a striking contrast to the loosened folds of her garments. Her young groom, dressed in a refined pale blue kimono with delicate cloud motifs, gazes at her with quiet satisfaction as he penetrates her. The flowing robes, vibrant colors, and masterful attention to fabric textures heighten the scene’s erotic elegance, making this a remarkable portrayal of love, desire, and the beginning of marital bliss.
