Excellent colors and impressions! The Japanese shunga also has a number of deluxe artwork features such as urushi-e (black lacquer; notably in the hair), mica (metallic pigments), gauffrage (a mild type of embossing), and also bokashi shading. Very good condition with minor wear. Original album backing. Please see and judge from photos.
A profoundly intimate and sensual shunga picture depicting lovers entwined in a passionate embrace. Their faces press together, their eyes half-closed in the throes of desire, as their bodies merge beneath the soft layers of exquisite kimonos. The woman clings to her partner, her fingers and thumb gently gripping his penis, while he buries his face against her neck, savoring the closeness of the moment. The flowing fabrics - her pale teal and cream robes subtly slipping open (down below), his deep violet kimono rich with delicate floral accents enhance the tenderness of the composition. The muted tones and soft shading lend an air of dreamlike intimacy, making this one of Terukata’s most evocative and emotionally charged works.
