A Rare & Authentic Meiji period original, c.1870, Japanese erotic art shunga woodblock print picture book by an artist of the Utagawa School with two homoerotic scenes enclosed. Shunga book measures 17.5 cm x 11.5 cm closed. Very good impressions. Condition is very good with some minor wear and soiling. Please judge from the photos provided. 23 picture pages within, while the remaining pages are kanji text pages. Again, two of the scenes are rare homoerotic scenes. Each gay shunga scene shows an older man with a younger kagema (young male prostitute who portrays females in traditional plays). The male genitalia of each participant are clearly shown in both scenes.
