Authenticity Note
Shunga was never meant to be disposable. It was made by skilled artists, printed with care, and kept because it mattered to the people who owned it.The safest rule is simple: buy from someone who clearly cares whether it’s right or not.
As a general rule, serious collectors avoid silk-printed shunga. These are decorative works, not woodblock prints, and they hold no meaningful value within the traditional collecting field.
