Date:  Original, 1st edition Japanese erotic art shunga woodblock print picture from the Edo Period, c.1822, from his shunga series, Kurawa no tanoshimi.

Description: 100% genuine & authentic Japanese woodblock print shunga picture by Hokusai from c.1822.  Very good colors and impressions, as well as some gold mica (metallic pigments) and gauffrage.  Condition is good with some wear and soiling, couple small repairs with backing at bottom corners.  Please see and judge from photos.

Size of the shunga woodblock print picture:  22.4 cm x 26.2 cm.

A very rare and incredibly beautiful Hokusai original shunga picture from one of his best series - and my personal favorite -  Kurawa no tanoshimi.  In this scene an enraptured couple enjoy themselves as the male lover takes his female beauty from behind.  Simply put, it's an absolute aesthetic gem; a true shunga treasure in every possible way!

It's virtually impossible to come across original Hokusai Edo Period artwork nowadays due to his popularity exploding worldwide over the past several years - especially shunga art!  Don't miss out on the opportunity to acquire a shunga work of art by arguably the greatest woodblock print illustrator that ever lived!
